The unit can be either on or off. If it is off, a full charge takes 2-1/2 hours. If it is on, playing a DVD, then a full charge takes 3 hours.
The power source only works with 120 volts, Do not use in European outlets if the input says 120 volts.
It also states, "The battery will not charge if it has naturally or purposefully been discharged. If this happens, turn the power on and then off. THe battery chargin g will then proceed.
After that try this
1) Plug your power adaptor to main unit
2) locate "power on" switch and change it to "off"
after doing this steps you will see a red light which means the unit is charging.
note: for some portable player once the charging is complete this red light changes color either orange or green which means the battery already full charge. but it is adviceable to charge battery for atleast 2hrs.
Thanks
