When Do You Use Fast Chill

If you set temp at 5 and put the fast chill on will it switch off at 5 deg. i would like the manual to have given more detail

The idea is to quickly cool down newly purchased foods that you put in your freezer. The quick chill will terminate when the temps inside the freezer stabilize.
