Depending on where the water was spilt you can resolve the issue simply providing you do not power up the unit until you are confident that it is now dry. It may require dismantling to access the pc boards which may be wet. If you have access to the unit and can see where the water has gone then initially dry the unit. Then put a fan heater blowing onto the unit with just cold. Leave this for overnight if possible and then check in the morning. If everything looks dry then you should be OK. However one proviso. This is not guaranteed if the unit was powered when the water was spilt unless power was remove instantly. If it was anything containing sugar, then the spilt areas need washing in warm water to eliminate the sugar as this will destroy the PCB. Then drying for a day just to be sure. It may be annoying to do this for so long but this is to ensure that there is no water left anywhere. There are various ways to solve your problem and a search on You-tube may give an alternative option but the endgame is to make the unit dry and reusable.
