How do I delete contacts in my Yahoo Messenger address book?

Open the "Address Book" group by clicking the arrow next to "Address Book" at the bottom of your Messenger List.
Right-click the contact and click Delete....
Click Yes to confirm.

Caution:

Deleting a contact from your address book also deletes them from your Messenger List.
The contact will not be notified that they have been deleted.
