Is Your Outgoing Server Blocking My Computer?

I am using Apple mail on my Macintosh to log into my Yahoo Mail Account, and today, I'm continually getting the error that my user name or password are incorrect.Apple Support thouroughly looked at all my settings, and have confirmed that they are all correct. So, we are wondering if my Outgoing server is being black listed or blocked?Here are things Apple Support had me do: We changed passwords. We tried a multiple of Yahoo settings from Yahoo's website. We've even changed the DNS numbers of the computer. None of these efforts resolved the problem.Something else you should know is that yahoo will occasionally log in and then log right back out, through the Apple Mail.My questions:So, we are wondering if my Outgoing server is being black listed or blocked?Are you having trouble with your Outgoing servers?

Hello, there doesn't seem to be a widespread issue with access to Yahoo! Mail as of right now. This does seem to be a problem with Mac users trying to access Yahoo! Mail (as mentioned here and here) and the problem seems to be on Yahoo!'s end. Those two articles mention some fixes that may work (including making sure you have the correct SMTP server name) but you can also try this fix suggested by Wikihow.

If all else fails, you will need to contact Yahoo! customer support for help. You can reach them at 800-318-0612.
