Delete Or Block Email Ads

I keep getting ads in my email that I can't delete and they are also making it difficult for me to open my other emails. The "ad" emails are in bold and there is a large blue dot beside of the email where the "check box" should be. How do I get rid of them? Thanks!

Yahoo does not let you block its ads on an ongoing basis except by upgrading to (paying for) Yahoo Plus. (You can otherwise hide an individual graphic ad—but not a text ad—on the current page only.) Even if you were to upgrade, you could not block text ads. See http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&id=SLN3591&locale=en_US&y=PROD_MAIL_ML.

You can however do the job with a good ad blocker, like the free Adblock Plus utility, available for most browsers (but not Internet Explorer) together with its Element Hiding Helper. Go to http://adblockplus.org/.
