Whirlpool Wtw6300ww Washer Went Off Balance And Overflowed Non-stop

while washing a small load of clothes, (believe during the rinse cycle) the washer went off balance, started shaking, some strange code lit up, and started filling the tub with water non-stop and it overflowed.  It would not stop filling up with water until I had to manually stop the whole cycle.  Is there a recall on this washer? Can this problem be corrected?
