Whirlpool Wtw4800xq Support Question

My husbad put just a mop head in washer and it start ok but never did a spin and it was very wet. we just put it in the dryer and did not think about it. Went to wash the nex day and made the choice and hit the start button and the red lock lid lid glowed red and mad small noice and then just shut off. After 4 hours of unplugging different settings it the start do fill with out the lid locked and would not spin water out or do softner. I am so frustrated on day no problems and next bamb.
