Using Only Powder Detergent

I just got my new Duet. I ONLY use HE powder detergent, so I followed instructions to remove the liquid cartridge. Both times, I got the message that it did not detect the cartiridge, and I had to manually select "no" that I was not using the cartridge. Is there a way to change the default, or will I have to do this extra response (no) each and every time I run a wash load? Thank you.
