Whirlpool Duet Door Lock

I do not have a manual to use to figure out my problem. The washing machine is not on but the door locked button is blinking. I cannot start the washer nor can I open the door to take the close out. I see there is a control lock button that says to hold down for 3 seconds. I do thank an the light comes on but it does nothing and does not allow me to do anything else either. Please tell me how I can reset this so the door is no longer locked and so I can put through a load of laundry. Thank youPam
