Whirlpool Wfg114svq0 Lp Conversion

I have purchased a second hand Whirlpool oven model number WFG114SVQ0. I would like to convert it to LP. When I flip the regulator cap over there is nothing between the cap and the spring excpet a rubber ring/washer. There is no adjustment screw. The cap does not fit back on with the LP side facing out uniless I remove the rubber washer. At this point it would make a loose fit. The cap is made of a yellow metal and has a little knob on it which fits into a groove on the regulator. It is not the nut style cap. Should I remove the washer?
