2 Burner Pilot Lights Spark When I Turn One Knob.

I have the rear burner and front burner sparking when I turn the knob to light the rear burner. Once the rear burner is lit the front burner keeps sparking till I turn the knob past the lite icon. Does this mean both burners are releasing gas?
