Wed Whirlpool 5100vq --the Cylinder Stopped Turning

We have a WED Whirlpool 5100VQ. Yesterday, the cylinder stopped turning mid-cycle. The heat continued, the barrel stopped turning. What could be the cause? A fuse? a belt? the motor? overheating? Any ideas? Thanks.
