Wall Oven

We purchased a Whirlpool wall oven (with microwave above), from SEARS a few years ago.  We've used the oven very infrequently.  Just last night we attempted to use it.  While the light went on, the oven made "cooking" noise (yeah, I know, "The-light was on, but nobody was home").  We theorize a "fuse inside the oven" might have blown.  apparently, ya circuit breaker didn't trip (I checked + other lights on the circuit were working) Please assist with any thoughts, or suggestions to trouble-shoot this problem. Thank You, Dennis Cassan
