Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator Model Gi7fvcxxb00 Display Panel Not Responding

whirlpool gold refrigerator model gi7fvcxxb00 touch pad will not respond. the fridge still dispenses water and ice, but not using display panel. the touch pad still lights up, but does not respond when u touch it. i can't access options, and the info on the pad says the water measure and light options are turned off.
