Removing The Filter
The filter in my dishwasher needs to be cleaned - there is obvious food debris on top of and below the filter. However, I can't seem to get it out!! How do I remove the filter to clean it?

Whirlpool calls it a screen rather than a filter. You're supposed to be able to lift it out with a finger, but I had to put a hook into the grill. There is a clip on the shallow side, so it's probably better to lift the deep side first. The dishwasher might not drain right after you clean it: I ran mine empty, and then it drained.
