I Have A Wd500gb Drive ,i Can Not Connect It My Hp Envy Dv6 Win8 Need Help

Is your Drive compatible with win8?
If yes then most likely it needs a new drive letter. Try this,
go to control panel -- administraive tools -- computer management -- disk management
Find the drive and right click on it. select to change the drive letter.
You can also try using their s/w app for win 8
