Vtech Innotab 2 Won't Connect To My Mac.

I just bought a InnoTab 2, downloaded the software and I keep getting a error that it is not found and to connect the device. The thing that makes no sense is the Vtech says its connected to the computer and the drive shows up on the desktop so I know its connected and working. I now know it must have something to do with the software. Please help as this is brand new and a Christmas gift for my daughter.

plug the innotab in, wait for the software to auto launch and load, then close it. Now go to finder, applications,vtech,download manager and click download manager to start the program manually. if this doesn't work make sure you have read and write permissions on the program (right click & get info) or log on as a non admin user and try again, also make sure your security settings allow non apple applications to download
