a 1000 mAh (milli-ampere-hour) battery will provide 1 Amp of current for 1 hour or 1 milliamp for 1000 hours (in theory). I do not know what the rated current draw of the camera is, and it will vary depending on LCD use, flash use etc. The user guide will give you an estimates run time. From there you'll need to figure it out depending on your usage.
Basically there is no way to get an exact number. There are too many variables. The camera is rated at 150 to 200 pictures per charge. Beyond that I have been unable to locate a current draw rating.
