Update On Voicemail Password

i received a text today stating that i need to update my voicemail password by pressing 1 what does this mean?

Greetings - Long pressing (pressing and holding) key number one(1) serves as a Virgin Mobile voicemail's speed dial. It may be that you had not setup voicemail. It is not suppose to be a big deal I understand.
