How Do I Get My Viewsonic Vfd1028w To Rotate The Pictures That Are In Portrait?

I bought I photo frame for my grandmother, loaded in with pictures on an SD card (ensuring that the photos were already displayed in the proper format - landscape or portrait), but the frame does not seem to be rotating the pictures that are in portrait. Instead, the are rotated to the side (landscpae) and are all sideways. I have tried every setting on the frame and have had no luck!
