I Put The Wrong Zip Code On Letter With A Delivery Confirmation. It Is Hung Up

I put the wrong zip code on letter. It is hung up in a post office in the correct state but 100 miles from the correct destination? Will the USPS spot the mistake of the wrong zip code and forward it. It has a delivery confirmation.

If the post office sees that the zip code is wrong they will correct it just may take a few days longer then expected. If the post office can not figure out exactly where it is to go they will send it back to the sender non deliverable.
