I Can Here People Chatting, However.. I Can't Hear Any Game Volume Nor Sound Efx

..I just replaced my chat cable to my x31. Earforce. I can here friends and others chat, however I can't hear any of the back ground music nor the special efx. I have checked Xbox settings and the cables to the headset. Out of possibilities. The chat wire is the same as the stock one with chat volume and mic on/off.
