If you received a Form 1099-S (Proceeds from Real Estate Transactions) after selling your main home, here’s how to report it.

1. Search your TurboTax program for home sale and then click Jump to home sale in the search results.

2. On the Sale of Your Main Home screen, answer Yes.

Note: If you’re using Deluxe or lower, you’ll need to upgrade to Premier.

3. Proceed through the home sale interview.

4. Eventually you’ll see the Include Sale of Home in Return screen. Mark the checkbox on this screen and continue.
