Using A Nokia Lg420 Phone. Every Time I Send A Text, It Sends It As An Mms.

When I send a text without any pics, my phone seems to be set to always send as an MMS. This costs me more than just sending an SMS. What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting I need to change?
