Sim Card Issue
the phone says "insert SIM card" the card is in it properly. if i put the card in another phone it says 'no SIM card' is there a fix for this or do i chuck it?

It sounds to me that the sim card you have came from another phone. if this is the case then you cannot use a sim card from another phone this causes problems. You will have to purchase a new sim card to be used. If you need any further assistance you can call 1-800-331-0500 from a landline phone or visit http://www.wireless.att.com
