Thanks for your question. The manual reccomends no less than 87 octane. Depending upon where you live and your specific driving conditions, you are likely to experience no difference in performance using a higher octane; nor is a higher octane likely to be "better" or "worse". Certainly, do not use less than 87, but 89 will not harm your vehicle.
