Where Is The Oil Pump Located?

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable. On vehicles equipped with an air bag, wait at least 90 seconds before proceeding.
  • Remove the hood.
  • Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  • Drain the engine oil.
  • Remove the front exhaust pipe.
  • Remove the rear end stiffener plate.
  • Remove the oil dipstick and oil pan.
  • Remove the oil strainer and gasket.
  • Carefully suspend the engine with a sling device, or equivalent and remove the timing belt and pulleys.
  • If equipped, remove the crankshaft position sensor.
  • Remove the 12 mounting bolts, the oil pump, and the gasket.
