Fan Problems?

Hi having problems with my to toshiba satellite, working fine this morning, now when I turn it on this warning pops up: system is having a heating problem turn power off and send in your computer.More it has shown this before then went away. Now pod comes up when I turn in my computer and it just powers off shortly afterwords like I held the powerbutton down. It's about 2 years old and I bought it from a friend and have had no problems with it so far. Took an air gut and blew ithour and thatdidn't help either. Is there a free way to fix the problem?

More than likely, you have a ball of fluff/hair about 10mm thick between the cooling fan and the processor _it tends to bunch up there, and the laptop has to be stripped to get to the fan, and remove it temporarily. This can be  frightening to a newbie, so have a look at this video from someone one youtube to get the idea- the 505 might be similar to yours, but you can see the fluff  near the end of the video. I tend to remove the fan completely, as there can be lots more- the air can push most out, though.

A good place to see how to dismantle a laptop is here- generally the same procedure.
