1. Hit the "power" button to turn on computer. Press the F12 key on the keyboard. This must be done prior to the operating system loading, and if the Windows OS logo has popped up, then it's too late. Boot into Windows, then restart the computer, and try it again.
2. Pressing F12 on a Toshiba Protege laptop takes you directly into the BIOS, and any settings that you would like to change, you can change now. note that Pressing F12 is specific to a Toshiba Protege. Getting into the BIOS is always done by hitting one of the F keys, and depending upon the make and model of the computer the numbers will be different.
3. Select "Save and Quit". Thiis will save any and all changes that you've made, Then Exit out of the BIOS, and restart the computer.
How to remove a Supervisor Password
1. turn your computer on & wait for the memory check to come on the screen.
2. Press the "DEL" key when prompted to enter the BIOS Setup
3. Enter the password to get into the Toshiba BIOS.
4. Use the arrow keys to scroll over to the "Security" tab & scroll down to the "Set Supervisor Password".
5. Press the F9 key to set the BIOS password to the default. The default is no password onthe system.
