Dubbing

i have trouble getting it t odub when i follow the step by step in the manual.it keeps giving me a red cicle No when i try to dub either way i ge to the last step and it really wont let me choose the speed i gave up and go t osp mode but lately i cant get it to start recordingat all what am i dont wrong?is there a way to start recording in one mode or another and then start play??

The manual SUCKS, doens't it?

It took me forever to figure this out:

Turn on the unit
Insert a VHS
Insert a DVD+R
Using the remote, press VCR
Using the remote, press PLAY, and then PAUSE, stopping the tape where you want to start recording
Using the remote, press DVD
Using the remote, press DUBBING. The VHS will start to play, and the DVD will start to record.
Contrary to what the stoopid manual says on page 51, DO NOT press REC MODE, do not press REC. Just press DUBBING.
