These two boxes should have the HDMI output verified it's not in some weird resolution that's not compatable with the 1080i/720p that this set needs. You should be able to use the component output to do this check.

Well, this is either the HDMI cable being bad or the TV has a bad board. Try another cable first, or hook up another TV to isolate the faulty unit.
