Display
Replaced the battery because the display wouldn't work unless directly under a lamp. Still have the same problem. Display will not show up unless directly under a lamp.....indirect sunlight will not work.Please adviseLinda Mabb

So even when you replace the battery, the display does not work in non-direct sunlight?
I think there is a weak connection here. You may want to clean the terminals for your battery connector in the calculator.
Use a tissue, and possibly some vinegar on the tissue as you wipe the connection electrodes, etc. I have a feeling you have an old calculator.
