Just bought the 2005 Reno.  There is a 'hold' button next to the stick shift... what the heck is it and what do I do with it?   Thank you Margaret

The Hold button allows your automatic transmission to sort of act like a manual. When you press the Hold button, it will "lock" the transmission in that gear and will not shift out until you either manually move the shifter/selector or release the Hold.

The "hold" button stops the transmission from changing the gears, I.E. if you press it when the car is in, say 3rd, the transmission is held in that gear until the button is pressed again. This is only really useful if you are going down a long steep gradient. By holding the transmission in a lower gear, it saves you having to apply the brakes so much.
