ok, the pipe that comes out of the wall has threads on the end, you put some tephlon tape arount the threads, then you put the rubber washer inside the shower head, then thread the shower onto the pipe tighten up, turn on the shower, look for any leaks, if there is a leak then you would have to tighten the shower head a little more. they usually give two washers, one is extra, unless it came with a second hand held shower head, then you have to tape the threads of the main shower, then put the other washer into the hand held shower and tighten.
