Vibrating And Rough Ride

I own a 2008 forester 2.5x. I have owned it since 2009 and had no problemds with it till just recently. I have experienced it starting to ride extremely rough and vibrating at times.  It does not do it all the time but when it does it is very scary. I have put it in neutral and gave it some gas to no effect. The only way to strop the rough ride is to come to a complete stop and the start again.  Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
