2002 Forester - New Radio - No Panel Lights

I recently replaced the radio in my forester.  Everything works fine except the dashboard panel no longer lights.  I have three wires that I do not use with the new installation: Two are blue with a red stripe, and the last is orange with a with stripe. My son tells me that the panel lights worked until he pulled on the antenna cable, then they flickered, and went out.  I can't locate any loose connectors, any ideas?
