Where Is The Fuel Filter Located On My 2001 Subaru Outback Sedan?

the fuel filter needs changed on my 2001 outback. where would it be located so I can change it?

It should be in the engine compartment, right behind the washer fluid bottle (on the driver's side inner fender). Just be sure to remove the fuel pump fuse and crank the engine a few times before removing the hoses to the filter. That will relieve the fuel pressure, so you won't get sprayed with gas. 

Also a good idea to disconnect the negative battery cable before working on the fuel filter to reduce the chance of sparks and possibly igniting gas fumes.
