Can I Buy A Verizon Or Att Phone Off Ebay With Straight Talk Service?

I'm thinking about buying a Samsung Galaxy S3 off Ebay and buying a Straight Talk service card for it. What do I need to know and look out for? Can I get the internet to work easily? Is there any way I can get insurance for the phone?

The phone insurance would probably have to come from Samsung or whatever vendor sold the phone.

If it's already covered, maybe it's transferrable with the phone?

You can check Straight Talk's website for Sim card info.

And as far as internet service, you'd have to check on the carrier info for signal strength and 3G/4G in your area.

You can use any UNLOCKED GSM phone with with a Straight Talk $45 a month plan. So, basically any phone that uses a SIM card, Verizon and Sprint phones are out. I used an AT&T phone with Straight Talk and had no issues, but was told by Straight Talk that shouldn't have worked. It's best to purchase an unlocked phone so you can set the APN and use the internet easily. Oh, and some phones work better than other when you set up the internet. Sony Ericsson Acro S works great on Straight Talk media/internet, but Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is sluggish.

Straight Talk doesn't insure your phone, like nopoo says you would have to see about that from the company you purchase the phone from.
