Press the FM button on the receiver or remote control.
Press the TUNING -/TUNING + buttons to manually scan the FM band.
When you hear a station that you want to listen to, stop pressing the TUNING buttons.
To fine-tune the station, press and hold the TUNING -/TUNING + buttons until the station is clear.
The type of antenna that is best for you will depend on a number of factors, including your location and the strength of the FM signal in your area. If you live in an urban area with a strong FM signal, you may be able to use a simple indoor antenna. However, if you live in a rural area or have a weak FM signal, you may need to use an outdoor antenna.
Here are a few types of antennas that you may want to consider for your Sony STR-DE597P receiver:
Indoor antenna: Indoor antennas are typically less expensive and easier to install than outdoor antennas. However, they may not provide as good of a reception, especially in areas with a weak FM signal.
Outdoor antenna: Outdoor antennas typically provide better reception than indoor antennas. However, they can be more expensive and difficult to install.
Yagi antenna: Yagi antennas are a type of directional antenna that can be used to improve reception of specific FM stations.
Log-periodic antenna: Log-periodic antennas are a type of omnidirectional antenna that can be used to receive FM signals from all directions.
If you are unsure what type of antenna is best for you, you can consult with a local electronics store or antenna installation company.
Here are some additional tips for tuning the FM radio on your Sony STR-DE597P receiver:
Make sure that your antenna is properly connected to the receiver.
If you are using an indoor antenna, try placing it in a different location.
If you are using an outdoor antenna, make sure that it is properly installed and aimed at the nearest FM transmitter.
Try using a different FM station. Some stations may have stronger signals than others.
Use the FM MODE button to select the appropriate FM mode (MONO or STEREO).
Use the MUTING button to mute the audio while you are tuning the radio. This will make it easier to hear the weaker FM stations.
