my sony shake-33 is stuck in protect mode how do I reset the system because nothing I try works

There is an output load causing the protect to engage, turn unit off and dis-connect the speaker wires from the back of the receiver, this will reset the processor Ic. Now power on and turn volume down, if the word protect stays off it means there is a short in the wires or one or more of the speakers. But if the word protect comes on with the "speakers and wires dis-connected" it indicates a short in one or more audio output Ic's and will need a tech to address the extent of damage and cost.
