Remote Operation Problem
Remote no longer works. Replaced remote to no avail.

Why has my Sony remote stopped working?
The remote control may not work or operate correctly for the following reasons: The remote has lost Bluetooth® connection (only for remotes that have the built-in IR Blaster function). The remote doesn't support the model or component type. ... Remote controls may not support mechanical functions, such as a power button.

Follow this procedure to reset the Digital Satellite System (DSS) remote control.
On the remote control , remove the batteries .
Press and release each button on the remote control two times.
Install new alkaline batteries.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Ensure the batteries are properly inserted by matching the polarity on the batteries with the PLUS (+) and MINUS (-) symbols in the battery compartment.
Replace the battery cover .
Ensure there are no obstructions between the satellite receiver and the remote control .
Ensure that none of the buttons appear to be stuck.
