No Sound From The Cd.
It seems to be operational. Do I play it with the radio on or off? I get no sound with the radio off & only static with the radio in the background with the radio on. I have a 1989 Mercedes 300 SE with the the factory stereo, a Becker Grand Prix am/fm/cassette player. I tried pressing the play button for at least 2 seconds & got the same result. Thanks for your help!

This particular unit uses an FM Modulator (AKA hideaway unit) to send the CD Changer sound to your radio (head unit).
You must select in the radio (head unit) the right frequency to ear the sound (as if it was a radio station).
If you don't know the preset frequency on the Sony model, procede as follows: put a CD (that you know the songs) in the Changer; start the changer (hiting play); then, search stations in your head unit until you got the music from the CD; store the station in the head unit (using one of the presets).
And that's it. Every time you want to listen to the CD Changer you just have to hit "play" and to select the saved preset in your radio (head unit).
