Unable To Record Disk Through Simple Burner To Mp-3

I put the disk in the computer and the plugged my MP-3 into the computer and clicked on the simple burner.  The computer loaded the program onto the simple burner, because it started playing.  I clicked on the record button and nothing happened.  the record button seemed a lighter red also.  I tried the down load button and the menu button but nothing happened.  Help.
