Radio Buttons Troubleshooting

Buttons don't work on the radio and neither does the reset. It was working fine and all of a sudden it stops working. I turn the power on and all it says is "Hello". So i press the stop button for some 3-5 seconds and Hello clears and still no buttons work. Pressing the stop button does give me some options with the remove and i can change some functions like basics vol, fm, ipod, cd etc.I suspect the component board having issues but i have heard that its probably locked or region locked but reset does not work so i have no idea how to fix it. I don't want to send it in for repair till all possibilities are expired and apart from the reset option i have not seen any repair guides and any other troubleshooting guides. Any help given is appreciated. Sony does not have a fix either other than reset.
