On/off 'switch' On Tv

I have a Sony Bravia KDL 40EX520 LCD LED TV. I can't turn my TV on and off using the on/off "switch" near the bottom left hand corner of my TV. I can, however, do so with the remote control.

If you are saying the remote doesn't work the to test the remote simply point it at your camera on your cell phone. if you see a glow when you press buttons, then the remote is working. then the problem is likely the remote sensor in the TV. A-1792-877-A HLR2 BOARD.

This is under warranty, so call Sony to setup repairs

This sounds like the switch may have simply failed. They're just cheap plastic.

It's also possible that a wire came loose or that the logic board has failed.

If you're OK with only using the remote then I wouldn't worry about it.

Beyond that you can try opening it up and looking around (which may break other things) for a loose wire or you'll need to send it in for servicing.
