My Recording Button Is Not Working Even On The Memory Stick (digitally)

So I recently bought a sony DCR-TRV530 , and everything seems to work on it except the recording button. The button seems to function by showing the sign " SET CLOCK" , but when recording digitally it doesnt seem to function even if a memory stick is present. So should I go get it repaired or is there something I can do?Also, I seem to add the tape in , but it doesnt go down . I dont know why the camera wont accept the tape.
