Sony Ericsson W850i The Message Alert Sound Has Defaulted To Low Volume

Sony Ericsson W850ithe MESSAGE ALERT SOUND occasionally 'defaults' to an extremely LOW VOLUME causing me to miss alerts for sms messages.i cannot locate anywhere how to turn this up. i did somehow find it about a year ago, but now it has again somehow 'defaulted' to the almost unaudible low setting; and i'm unable to find how to turn it up again...-the 'ring volume' in sounds and alerts only adjusts the ring volume for receiving calls, not message alert volume.. can anyone please help?many thanks, Doug
