Wrong Sim

I am new to the simple mobile wireless community i purchased a sim card with the letters bb on it. i activated it and placed it into my sharp fx plus and it is not working. i looked online and it was for a blackberry i did not know that at all and was wondering is it possible i can transfer to a new card if i buy one or did i just waste money
