I Have A New Sharp 'library Quiet' Portable Air Conditioner.Does Anyone Know O
I bought a hose to drain the unit and placed the hose in a jelly roll pan.
That works fine....but I have to emty the pan every 2 hours with all the humidity.
At night, the pan overflowed and my carpet is soaking wet.
Also, when I go to empty the pan during the day, the water sloshes out of the pan onto the carpet.
I don't want to end up with moldy carpet.
If I leave the plug in the unit, it shuts off when too much water builds up.
I can't win.

I am assuming you are running the air conditioner (A/C) and not the dehumidifier. Method 1: Retrieve an empty container such as a small bucket or empty gallon milk jug. Roll the unit to the edge of a stairway. (This willl allow enough clearance for the container) Pull out the rubber drain cock. Allow the condensate to empty into the container. Insert the rubber drain stopper into the A/C drain. This should allow the unit to run for quite some time before needing to be emptied again.
Method 2: Note that the unit also has a condensate pump that will pump condensate from the manual drain (located higher on the unit in the back). Although the owners manual says to push the power button, this does not always work. I have had to hold the power button down.
